Technical planning
Structured briefs, graded routes and version-checked route sheets make each trip predictable for schools.
Malavazhi means "mountain path" in Malayalam. We bring together village guides who know the hills by heart and a planning system that writes every route down.
Hill communities in the Western Ghats hold detailed knowledge of their land: which slopes hold water, which plants mark a season, which paths are safe after rain. That knowledge is usually passed on by walking, not by writing.
Schools need something different. Teachers must show a plan to their principal and to parents, with times, ratios and fallback options. Malavazhi was set up to connect the two, so a class can learn from village guides with a plan that holds up to review.
We are a small, technology-minded team working alongside host villages. We build route sheets, briefing packs and worksheets, while guides and hosts lead everything that happens on the ground.

| Community first | Villages set capacity, closed areas and session content. |
|---|---|
| Written precision | Every route, time and contact is on paper before the trip. |
| Tradition with context | Customs are shared by the people who practise them. |
| Light footprint | Small groups, no waste left, nothing taken from the trail. |

Guides explain the landscape in their own terms, from crop cycles to the stories behind place names.
Worksheets and debriefs connect field observations back to the classroom.
We reply with questions first, then a draft plan.
